Guardian Vase Workshop
Studio Dirt with NANNA WOO
Introducing our new Two-Part Hand Building: Guardian Vase Workshop with the talented Hanna Woolley of NANNA WOO. Guardian Vases are owl-inspired vessels to hold your favourite fresh or dried botanicals, feathers and driftwood. Join us for a creative two session experience where you'll design and hand build your own ceramic Guardian Vase, then return to decorate it before its final firing.
Session 1 – Friday, 14 August 1pm-3:30pm
Learn the fundamentals of hand building as you bring your ideas to life in clay. We'll explore ideas and designs, hand building techniques, nature imprints, carving and surface texturing to create your own unique Guardian Vase.
Session 2 – Friday, 11 September 1pm-2pm
Return to decorate your creation using underglazes and finishing techniques before it heads off for its final firing.
Whether you're completely new to clay or looking to build on your hand-building skills, this workshop will guide you through the entire creative process, from raw clay to a forever finished ceramic vessel.

Weekend Wheel Throwing Taster (2Hrs)
Curious about wheel throwing? This fun 2-hour workshop is the perfect way to give the pottery wheel a spin — no experience required!
Our friendly instructor will guide you step by step through centering, shaping, and (maybe) even mastering those wobbles as you create your very own piece of pottery. With a maximum of 8 people, you’ll enjoy a small group setting with plenty of guidance and time on the wheel.
Come solo, bring a friend, or make it a date with a difference — either way, you’ll have fun, get a little messy, and tap into your creative side.

Wheel, Sip & Snack Night (2.5Hrs)
Ready to kick off your weekend? In this fun, no - pressure 2.5 hour session, you’ll have a go at wheel throwing while enjoying complimentary drinks & snacks (yes - it’s as fun as it sounds).
Our friendly instructor will guide you step by step - whether you are shaping your first bowl or just here for the laughs and good times. No experience? No problem. It’s all about having fun and giving it a go.
And the best part? We’ll take care of all the clean up - you just show up, sip, snack, spin and step into your weekend!

6 Week Wheel Workshops
This course will immerse you in the world of wheel-thrown pottery and guide you through the fundamentals of working on the wheel. You’ll learn how to centre clay, create simple forms such as cylinders, bowls and plates, and dive into trimming and glazing techniques.
Perfect for complete beginners — or for anyone who tried our taster session and loved it! With only seven spots available, the class stays small, supportive and hands-on.
And as a bonus, participants who complete our beginner course will receive first access to our exclusive Studio Dirt Club sessions for ongoing making and practice.

For The Love of Food - A Hand Building Series
Join us for our first class in this new series we are offering.
PART ONE - Charcuterie Platter
A thoughtfully hosted clay experience for those who love beautiful objects and good food. In this intimate hand building class, you’ll create one bespoke ceramic charcuterie platter, designed for generous spreads and slow gatherings.
Studio Dirt will complete all finishing and firing, glazing your piece in your choice of any of our studio glazes.
No experience needed, perfect for beginners.

Welcome to Studio Dirt Club—your uninterrupted time to get your hands dirty. Enjoy two hours of exclusive open studio access to work at your own pace, explore ideas, and settle into the creative flow without distractions. Whether you’re refining a piece, experimenting freely, or just craving focused studio time, this session is all about making space for your practice. Come solo and get lost in the process. Recycled clay available free of charge, other types of clay available to purchase by weight.
